First time booking an event?
Here is how it goes, from the quote to the last plate.
Build your quote
Pick the experience, the date, the starting time and how many guests, and give the address. Add any extras and say if the food must be halal or vegan. The price shows as you go.
It goes straight to Tony. You talk it through in that chat — the menu, the venue, the time — and he puts the final quote together.
Confirm the booking
Once you and Tony have agreed the menu and the price, your date is booked.
Enjoy the day
The chef arrives with everything, sets up, makes the food in front of your guests and cleans up afterwards.
Our story
It started on Tony’s weekends.
From a hotel kitchen to five of his own across Gauteng.
In the beginning
Weekends in his own kitchen
Sous chef at the Hilton during the week, building up Japanese catering of his own at the weekends.
Then COVID
Sushi across Midstream
Retrenched when the hotel downsized, he started delivering sushi across Midstream from his own kitchen. Wa Zen grew out of those first orders.
Today
Five kitchens across Gauteng
Midstream, where it began, is still one of them — and more are on the way.
- Kyalami
- Midstreamwhere it began
- Glen Village
- Montana
- Randburg
The standard
Fresh, every time.
I still love making sushi, and I hold every kitchen to the standard I set at home: the freshest fish, the finest quality ingredients make the best food, all made properly with attention to detail.
